Yellow Springs is once again putting its best foot (and bike) forward for the 2025 Celebrate Trails Day on Saturday, April 26th. Known as a destination for outdoor lovers and a hub for trail enthusiasts, the village welcome all to enjoy a day dedicated to the joy of exploring the outdoors and the power of community connections.

“Rails-to-Trails is a nonprofit organization that helps oversee trail projects, transforming unused railroads into multiuse trails for pedestrians and cyclists across the country.” - Cole Oberg, Rails-to-Trails Annual Event Coordinator

This year’s celebration is especially meaningful, as Yellow Springs is home to the Midwest Regional Office of the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, making it a vital player in the regional trail network. The event, hosted at the historic train station in the heart of vibrant downtown, offers a perfect opportunity to explore the local trails, discover new organizations, and experience all that Yellow Springs has to offer - from its charming shops to its nature-filled bike paths.

The Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce is collaborating with Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and several organizations including Greene County Public Health, Greene CATS Public Transit, the Buckeye Trail Association, Warriors on Wheels, and youth organizer Cole Oberg, whose leadership is helping shape the event’s programming.

“There’s so much to celebrate with this year’s event,” says Phillip O’Rourke, Executive Director of the Yellow Springs Chamber of Commerce. “From the leadership of youth organizer Cole Oberg to the incredible partnerships that continue to grow year after year, Celebrate Trails Day reflects the best of our community. The value of this event to our residents and to those who come to enjoy Yellow Springs is truly remarkable.”

More than just a celebration of trails, the event highlights the values that define Yellow Springs - sustainability, accessibility, and community spirit. Whether you're a hiker, cyclist, or someone who simply enjoys a good walk in beautiful surroundings, Yellow Springs invites you to join in the celebration on April 26th.

Celebrate Trails Day aligns perfectly with Earth Week activities, offering even more opportunities to reflect on the importance of being good stewards of our natural resources. See more events...
